We’re very excited to share that Visible Band 2.0, along with Visible memberships and accessories, can now be purchased using Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds in the US.
This means more people can access pacing technology using pre-tax dollars, saving up to 40% off the total cost of the Visible Band 2.0 and membership. It’s another step toward making Visible more accessible for people living with complex chronic illnesses.
What is HSA and FSA?
If you’re in the US, you may have a HSA or FSA through your employer or insurance provider. These accounts let you set aside pre-tax dollars for eligible healthcare expenses, things like monitoring devices, physical therapy or health apps.
Now that list includes Visible Band 2.0, Visible memberships and accessories.
Pacing with Visible
We know that for people living with complex chronic illnesses, pacing is one of the most widely recommended ways to manage symptoms and improve quality of life. It’s recognised in clinical guidelines for ME/CFS and Long Covid internationally.
Even so, structured support for pacing has been limited. Visible is here to change that.
By combining wearable insights with daily symptom tracking and analysis, Visible gives you the data and feedback you need to pace more effectively. It helps you understand your energy patterns and make informed choices about how to manage your health.
Visible’s HSA and FSA eligibility is recognition that pacing support is healthcare, and that everyone should have the option to use their benefits to access it.
The benefits of using your HSA and FSA for Visible
- Put your health benefits toward better complex chronic illness care
For many people living with complex chronic illness, it’s hard to find HSA or FSA options that truly make a difference day to day. Now, you can use those funds for something that genuinely helps you live better with complex chronic illness. - Making Visible more accessible
Our aim has always been to make Visible available to as many people as possible, as affordably as possible. When you use HSA or FSA funds, you’re paying with pre-tax dollars. This can lower your out of pocket cost by up to 40%. - Support yourself and your family
Your HSA or FSA often covers dependents too. If someone else in your household lives with a complex chronic illness, you can use your healthcare funds to purchase Visible for them. - Use funds before they expire
If you have an FSA, your contributions usually need to be spent before the annual deadline. Using those funds for Visible means putting them toward something that supports you, instead of letting them expire at year’s end.
What’s next?
HSA and FSA eligibility is an important step on our journey toward greater access, but ultimately we want to make pacing support free and universally available.
It’s a long road, and progress depends on strengthening the evidence base for pacing and self-management. Two recently published studies are early steps on that journey, and next week we’ll share more about their findings and where the research goes next.
